The Blackmagic Studio Camera includes a fiber optic connection that allows you to use a single thin cable to connect your cameras to your live production mixers. The fiber optic connection is bidirectional and carries HD or Ultra HD video with built-in audio, network orders, tally and even remote control of the camera. Since this connection uses standard low-cost fiber optic cable, you can connect your cameras almost anywhere for very long distances, even outdoors.


Integrated order network function
Use professional aviation helmets

The Blackmagic Studio Camera has a built-in order network function so that the camera operator and the team can communicate at any point during production. The camera is equipped with aviation helmet connections, allowing you to select from a wide range of aviation headsets and get an excellent headset with noise reduction at a lower cost. The installation is easy because the order network is integrated with the fiber optic or SDI video connection connected to the camera, so it is not necessary to connect separate cables.

Tally lights
You are on the air!

The Blackmagic Studio Camera supports the SDI tally standard used by the ATEM production mixer range. This means that the mixer tally is broadcast on all cameras from the ATEM mixer video outputs. The latter is sent to the Blackmagic Studio Camera via the video connection of the program. The tally lights automatically turn on when your camera is on the air, and stay bright during multiple camera transitions. Actors and the production team can easily see which cameras are on the air with a light on the front for actors and another on the viewfinder for the operator.


Professional quality connections

You have optional bi-directional fiber optic connections and professional SDI connections to connect to live production mixers or recorders. You also get a jack for aviation headsets, XLR stereo mic inputs and much more. All connections are logically organized on the left and right sides of the camera, making them easy to access and use. As the Blackmagic Studio Camera is equipped with standard connectors, you do not need to use expensive specific cables!

Quickly and easily access the most important controls using the row of buttons below the viewfinder. You can control the iris and focus, activate the order network and even view the video feed return with a button. You can also switch between movie and movie modes, display the security zone, and activate commands to change camera settings, while pressing the appropriate buttons. The integrated control panel allows you to fully control your camera at the touch of a button!


Remote control of the camera
Full control of the camera from your mixer!

You can now control your camera remotely! The Blackmagic Studio Camera can be remotely controlled from your ATEM production mixer via SDI connections for even more professional production. The Blackmagic Studio Camera also has the basic functions of the DaVinci Resolve Color Corrector, allowing you to color balance your cameras and add creativity to your live production. All camera settings can be controlled, including color and lens control, all remotely from your live production mixer. So you just have to focus on shooting!

The Blackmagic Studio Camera allows you to view the video of your mixer program by simply pressing a button! Simply press the PGM button on the camera to have the viewfinder display the video stream of your mixer program. Your viewfinder becomes a large SDI monitor! You can even use the SDI program input to view images from a HyperDeck recorder when you use your Blackmagic Studio Camera for recording.
