4. Customization of some Tamron lenses
Various lens functions can be customized, depending on the lens model and the built-in functions.
Adjusting the focus (front / backfocus)
The focus can be set to three distance ranges: near, mid, and far. For zoom zooms, settings can be made on up to eight different focal lengths, which means that the focus can be adjusted to a total of 24 tracks. Fixed-focus lenses have only one segment, so that customization is only possible over the three distance ranges. The conditions and extent of the possible settings may differ depending on the lens model.
Customizing the focus distance limiter
For lenses with a focus limiter switch, you can adjust the autofocus drive range by setting the near and far limits according to the user's preference. If the focus limiter switch has three positions, it is also possible to set the intermediate position. Only lens models with the focus limiter function can benefit from such adjustment. The conditions and extent of the possible settings may differ depending on the lens model.
Setting the VC function (only for lenses with a VC system)
Users can choose the VC (Vibration Compensation) mode they prefer from the options below for any Tamron lens with VC system that is compatible with the TAP-in console.
Priority to the stabilization of the image at the viewfinder
This mode favors the stability of the image to the viewfinder.
Standard (factory value)
This mode corresponds to the factory setting and establishes a middle ground between the stability of the viewfinder image and the vibration compensation effects.
Priority to sensor stabilization
This mode guarantees stable effects of vibration compensation. Stabilization occurs at the moment of tripping. These options only affect lenses with the VC system. The conditions and extent of the possible settings may differ depending on the lens model.
Customizing continuous manual focus
On all lenses with a continuous manual focus system, this mode can be turned on or off. In addition, you can optimize the focusing ring sensitivity to your preference with respect to its angular rotation at any position between High and Low, when the manual focus mode menu key is turned on.
