Exceptional image quality

This lens uses a high performance XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) lens designed from glass materials with an extremely low color dispersion index. The glass is thus able to break down a light beam in its different spectral colors. The dispersion properties are even lower than on standard LD lenses and correspond approximately to the value of fluorite. In combination with the LD element, the XLD lens offers more contrast and more shine. This effectively reduces the annoying chromatic aberration of telephoto lenses and offers optimal sharpness even on the sides. The lens thus compensates for longitudinal color defects and axial magnification errors throughout the zoom range in an efficient manner and guarantees the maximum resolution and brightness of your images.
USD

The Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) is Tamron's latest-generation autofocus engine. With advanced engine technology and unique firmware development, Tamron's USD offers a fast, accurate, and virtually silent photographic experience.
