The Tamron SP 85mm f / 1.8 is the first lens of this type to feature an image stabilizer *. Its unique design allows us to integrate our VC system (Vibration Compensation), without enlarging or weighing the whole. In addition, our SP 85mm f / 1.8 produces a great brightness in the viewfinder which facilitates the work of composition and guarantees exceptional performance in low light conditions. The large f / 1.8 aperture also offers a perfectly balanced bokeh. Silky background blur brings out the subject in the foreground.

A totally stable image thanks to the VC system

The 85mm f / 1.8 SP is the first lens of this type to feature an image stabilizer *. The movements of the camera - often too weak to be seen by the photographer - are the main cause of disappointing photos. In addition, recent SLR cameras offer pixel densities that are more sensitive to the tiny vibrations of the camera.

This technology allows you to take freehand shots in low light conditions and get the most out of shutter speeds without increasing the ISO sensitivity. This feature is particularly interesting in portrait because the lighting is often contrasted and the photographer may want to work without foot or without flash.

Resists moisture, repels dirt

The tropicalized construction, ensured by strategically located seals, provides optimum protection. A highly resistant fluoride coating applied to the surface of the front lens also prevents any form of condensation and repels stains, soiling and possible fingerprints.

To meet and surpass the needs of today's cameras, offering higher resolution and higher pixel densities, the 85mm f / 1.8 SP uses low dispersion LD and XLD lenses to correct chromatic aberrations. The ingenious optical construction eliminates virtually all chromatic aberrations and achieves sharp, sharp image quality. The eBAND and BBAR coatings cooperate with highly effective anti-glare techniques to improve light transmission, reduce the effects of diffuse lights and ghosting.

The 85mm f / 1.8 SP is designed to provide crisp subject clarity with stunning clarity and superb image quality.
