Understanding names better:
Example: N-2204
N = Universal series (turns around for a compact transport size and integrated monopod)
2 = the range characterized by a maximum section diameter and the weight supported
2 = Carbon (the 0 represents aluminum)
0 = without known meaning
4 = number of sections (relationship between rigidity and size)
What you should know about Sirui:
1.Forged for greater strength and reduced weight
Instead of using the traditional casting technology that is typical of making tripods, Sirui is a pioneer who has adopted the industry's blacksmithing technique. During the forging process, the deformation and recrystallization of the metal allows the metal structure to be welded more compactly and thus increase its strength. This allows you to build products that have exceptional strength and durability while being surprisingly light.
2. Carbon for greater load resistance
Sirui is one of the few manufacturers that makes its own carbon fiber tubes for tripods and monopods. The use of 100% carbon fiber on 8 cross-shaped layers means that Sirui tripods and monopods are able to support impressive loads, while offering a light product. In addition to providing high strength despite its low weight, carbon fiber is also very resistant to temperature changes, friction (no need for lubrication) and corrosion.
3. Tolerance test at different temperatures
Photographers often work in extreme conditions such as heat or cold. It is vital that their equipment works under these conditions. This is why Sirui performs a "torture test" in conditions that far exceed what most people will experience (from -40? To 100?).
4. Longevity tested - Quality and Reliability
In order to confirm the quality and reliability of the Sirui tripods, an independent test laboratory (SGS) submitted the spring mechanisms to adjust the steering angle of the feet. Test reports have shown that even after 100,000 operations, the springs continued to function perfectly!
5. Anodized surface treatment
All Sirui products undergo a special anodized surface treatment which makes all metal surfaces highly resistant to wear over time and weather conditions.
