Test card for cameras and lenses 30 x 45 cm 400 dpi
Test card for testing cameras and lenses in terms of quality and possible defects
Using this test card developed by nature photographer Benny Rebel, it is relatively easy to test the quality and possible defects of cameras and lenses. Thus, the test card provides an inexpensive way to individually test your own equipment, and independently of test reports, which are often unrepresentative due to the extent of production of certain lens and device brands Photo.
Numerous test criteria: for example Sharpness in the middle and at the edges of the photo, shaded edges u.v.m.
The card covers many test criteria. For example, camera criteria include center sharpness and outlines, resolution, color rendering, contrast, white balance, moire, AF problems, and noise according to different ISO settings . Objective test criteria include sharpness, resolution, contrast, brightness, color rendering, edge shading, chromatic aberration, distortion, vignetting, auto focus problems, possible decentering of lens elements and diffraction at different apertures.
Multiple test cards can be combined to form a large test card - ideal for wide-angle lenses
The test card is designed to allow you to combine four or nine identical test cards into one large test card. For this purpose, the test elements at the edges and corners of the test card are cut to continue on an adjacent card. A large test surface, such as that created by assembling multiple test cards, is important for testing wide-angle lenses. Such lenses intrinsically have a wide field of view and therefore a very large image detail. A large test card ensures that the test area covers the entire image section of the corresponding lens, allowing you to check sharpness and other criteria, even in the corners.
A test card for normal lenses and telephoto lenses, four test cards for wide angle lenses, etc.
For normal lenses and telephoto lenses, only one test card is sufficient. For lenses whose focal length is between 50 and 24 mm, you must use four test cards. For very wide angle lenses with a focal length of less than 24 mm, we recommend using 9 test cards. To test very wide-angle lenses with a focal length of less than 16 mm, it is even logical not to associate the test cards directly. Instead, you should leave a space between the cards. Important: The above focal distances refer to lens tests performed on full frame cameras. For lens testing on cameras, the limits change according to the camera's aspect ratio. For example, if you need four test cards for a 35mm lens on a full-frame camera, you only need one test card for the same 35mm lens on a large-format camera with a factor format of 1.5, because 35 mm x 1.5 is equal to 52.5 mm. In principle, however, the larger the test area, the better the results. It makes perfect sense to use four test cards to test a standard lens.
Solid paper, high print quality, extremely fine detail elements for particularly accurate testing
The test card is printed on a very strong and stable paper. In addition, the card with a print quality of 400 dpi is extremely detailed. The finer detail elements do not even exceed one point. This allows a very precise test of the properties of the lens and the camera. In addition, the main test areas are in the center of the map, as well as at the edges and in the corners. You can test properties such as sharpness throughout the image area. This helps to detect even the most subtle defects, such as a sudden drop in the corners.
