This new APS-C zoom for SLR offers the best of Tamron know-how: the widest focal range in its class, a compactness equivalent to the previous version (Model B001), with the addition of an image stabilizer. There is also a new AF HLD (High / Low Torque-Modulated Drive), a fluorite treatment, and a tropicalized construction. This latest-generation lens offers exceptional rendering power for landscape, group, or reportage photography.

Equipment and functions
Outstanding optical performance over the entire focal range

The optical design consists of 16 elements divided into 11 groups. A new aspherical lens and LD (Low Dispersion) elements provide outstanding resolution over the entire focal range. The lens also corrects comatic and transverse chromatic aberrations, as well as distortions that often occur in wide-angle. This new zoom has been completely redesigned to correct ghosting, with BBAR coating (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection), which improves light transmission and suppresses reflection and dispersion on the surface of the lens. The result: an optimal sharpness on all the surface of the image.
Be more creative with the stabilizer

 
The VC (Vibration Compensation) stabilizer makes it easy to take wide-angle shots even in unclear environments such as night landscapes and interiors. While maintaining the compact design of our previous model (B001), Tamron has added a fluid and efficient VC system. Now you can release your creative sense, increase the exposure time without the risk of camera shake.

 
HLD, extreme precision

With this lens, Tamron introduces the HLD autofocus drive system: High-Low-torque-modulated Drive. The power and fluidity of the new system allows a more stable and accurate focusing, perfectly suited to zooms with a complex optical formula. In addition, the manual focus correction feature allows you to make fine adjustments without having to switch from AF mode to MF mode.

 
Compatible with the TAP-in console

First non-SP optics to be compatible with the TAP-in console for expert photographers who want to customize their lenses: update the firmware yourself and make custom AF or stabilization settings.
