A construction that is highly resistant to weather and dust, and the possible addition of a dedicated protector

Designed for top performance in all circumstances, the SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM | Sports has a construction that is really weather and dust resistant. The front lens has a water repellent treatment that facilitates the evacuation of water and prevents the adherence of fat. This treatment is especially valuable when shooting under a drizzle or spray. It allows the addition of the dedicated protector SIGMA LPT-11 (sold separately) which protects it during shooting or transport.
A foot collar with notches every 90 °

Many photographers prefer to use this type of telephoto on a tripod or a monopod, the lens is provided with a wide and stable foot collar. The antistatic nickel plating of the internal parts enhances the durability of the ratchet notches present every 90 °, facilitating the transition from horizontal to vertical. Snapping can be disabled by a control located on the foot collar. It is possible to attach a strap to avoid unnecessary tension on the bayonet connecting the lens to the case.
