A new reference among 135mm lenses
The 135m telephoto lenses are often referred to as the essential telephoto lens, the first one to add to its optical panoply. This focal length provides a strong perspective compression effect, associated here with a remarkable bokeh due to the large aperture of F1.8. With minimal axial chromatic aberration, the SIGMA 135mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art generates an impressive bokeh effect and a great beauty, while offering a superb contrast and a high level of sharpness. By providing the latest optical innovations in design and materials, and by reconsidering each conceptual detail, SIGMA provides a uniform image quality to the corners and sets the new standard of quality 135mm focal length.

An optical formula delivering ultra-high resolution and chromatic aberration control.
This lens uses two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) lenses and two FLD ("F" Low Dispersion) lenses. These technologies make it possible to limit the chromatic aberrations that can appear in the bokeh zone of a portrait, or on the thin subjects such as the branches. The result is an image with a very high resolution and clarity all over the field, even at full aperture.
Ideal for portraits with a striking bokeh effect
The 135mm focal length generates an impressive compression effect of the perspectives: even at short distance from the subject, the creative possibilities are numerous. The compression effect is particularly apparent at short distances and in portraits. The opening of F1.8 makes it possible to reduce the depth of field and to obtain superb background blurs. The lens therefore offers many creative options to the photographer.
The sixth lens sets Full Size Line Art
Launched in 2012, the SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art was the first goal of the Art line. Since then, SIGMA has developed a wide range of lenses in this product line, and the SIGMA 135mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art is the sixth fixed lens of the line for Full Format (24x36). With this new reinforcement, the Art line continues to establish the new standard of fixed objectives of the era of the very high resolution.
Optimized image quality for high-definition SLRs
To deliver the ultra high resolution needed to get the most out of 50 megapixels and more, SIGMA has designed a floating focus mechanism. Regardless of the distance, the lens offers high performance from the center to the corners. With minimal distortion, it also delivers outstanding image quality that eliminates the need for future software adjustments.
